New board members

JOLIET — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties has two new board members, Melinda Mackey, human resources administrator for Harrah’s Joliet Casino & Hotel, and William Kent, owner of Servpro of Joliet.

Mackey of Plainfield is a member and past vice president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals — Greater Will County Chapter. Kent of Shorewood said now is the right time for him to join the organization because he has been able to hire more employees to give him a hand with his business.

Provena promotion

MOKENA — Melissa Adams has been promoted to administrator of Provena Villa Franciscan in Joliet effective Jan. 16. She has been employed by Provena Villa Franciscan for nine years and has served as social services director, admissions and marketing director and assistant administrator. Adams earned her bachelor of science degree in social work from the University of Missouri.

NuMark honored

JOLIET — NuMark Credit Union recently received the Latino Business Association’s Community Advocate Award. Maria Alcantar, active association member and board volunteer, accepted the award. She is a financial service representative at the Joliet office. NuMark Credit Union received a second award naming them Outstanding New Chamber Business by the Tinley Park Chamber.

“We are pleased to be a part of the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to the opportunity to work closely with local business and grow with the community,” said NuMark President and CEO Ann M. Dubie.

$212K for United Way

BRACEVILLE — Exelon Nuclear’s Braidwood Station employees raised more than $212,000 during the facility’s annual United Way campaign in 2011.

In addition to the $198,000 contributed by employees through the annual payroll deduction campaign, employees donated an additional $14,000 to support several local United Way agencies including Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living, Guardian Angel Community Services, Aunt Martha’s Youth Service Center and Daybreak Center.

We Care gets $1,430

MORRIS — The employees of Exelon Nuclear’s Dresden Generating Station helped area families in need this holiday season with a donation of $1,430 to We Care of Grundy County’s Food Pantry.
