JOLIET — No one was home when fire damaged a house around 3 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Cora Street.
Battalion Chief Terry Mangun said the blaze was contained to the living room but caused substantial heat and smoke damage throughout the one-story house rendering it uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated but it is not considered suspicious.
