Kendall inmate died of heart trouble

Updated: March 24, 2012 11:27PM

A 71-year-old Newark man who was found dead at the Kendall County jail in Yorkville died of natural causes, the Kendall County coroner’s office said.

Corrections officers found Ronald Brown dead at 5 p.m. Friday in his holding cell at the jail. Brown had been in the jail since Dec. 22. Police would not say Monday why he was being held.

There were no other inmates in the cell and Kendall County Sgt. Joe Jasnosz said the body had no trauma to it. Although toxicology reports are pending, the coroner’s office said Brown died of cardiovascular disease.

Jasnosz said there was no foul play involved in Brown’s death. On Monday, police continued to review the procedures and policies at the jail, and are expected to release more information later this week.
