ROMEOVILLE — A Melrose Park man who allegedly robbed a Romeoville bank Feb. 2 has turned himself in to police.
Assistant Chief Steve Lucchesi said Brett P. Timpone, 26, came into PNC Bank, 495 N. Weber Road and handed the teller a note claiming he had a gun. The robbery was recorded on surveillance video and images of the suspect were distributed by police later that day.
“Relatives had seen the surveillance photos, and he agreed to turn himself in,” Lucchesi said. Timpone reportedly came to the police station around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and was turned over to the FBI on Wednesday morning.
