Businesses urged to take part in New Lenox French Market

Updated: March 18, 2012 8:07AM

NEW LENOX — Local businesses may say oui, oui to new marketing ideas this summer in the New Lenox French Market.

Trustee Annette Bowden called for businesses to consider doing as the French do by selling their products in the village’s Saturday open-air market. Even home businesses that have small advertising budgets could benefit from this type of exposure, she said.

Unlike a typical farmers market, what New Lenox offers is unique. The physical structure is provided by a French company with awnings overhead to shelter vendors and guests.

Last year, vendors included bakeries, cheese shops, meat and poultry vendors, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef and florists. There were also several farmers selling vegetables, fruit, herbs and greens.

Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a vendor should call Carol Hennessy at 815-462-6400.
