Coaches hosting youth baseball clinic

Updated: March 20, 2012 8:15AM

FRANKFORT — Baseball coaches and parents of youth baseball players are invited to attend a free coaching clinic at Lincoln-Way North High School on Saturday.

The clinic, which will be led by Lincoln-Way North baseball coaches, will offer tips on how to teach kids how to hit, pitch and field. Participants also will learn practice design, ideas for age-appropriate drills and how to diagnose problems in players.

“We try to address every level, from the beginner kindergartner to the advanced junior high all star,” said Lincoln-Way North baseball coach Joe Skarbek. “This clinic gives our program a chance to demonstrate the most important facets of the game.”

The free, three-hour clinic will start at 8 a.m. in the Field House of Lincoln-Way North High School, 19900 S. Harlem Ave.

It is open to coaches from any level, including kindergarten, grade school, middle school or high school coaches.

There is no need to pre-register.
