MORRIS — Morris Grade School District lost an administrator as special populations coordinator Todd Gierman resigned.
Gierman would not comment on the decision after the school board meeting, only saying it was personal and replying “no comment” to all other questions.
Gierman was hired by the district, which includes White Oak Elementary and Shabbona Middle schools, two years ago and shepherded in the district’s change from contracting with the Grundy County Special Education Co-operative to a decentralized special education program within the district.
Before Gierman came to Morris, he was director of curriculum and coordinator of special education services at the Manhattan School District.
At board meetings in the summer, some residents demanded Gierman’s resignation for what they called credential issues and questions involving the district’s reimbursement of his continuing education costs.
