Work to start on Plainfield bike path

PLAINFIELD — Construction work is expected to begin Friday on the 119th Street Bike Path, from Heritage Meadows Drive to Olympic Drive.

The work will be within the parkway on the south side of the street and road closures are not anticipated. Be aware of trucks and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during construction of the bike path.

This work is expected to be complete by the end of April and will provide a needed connection within the existing bike path network.

Looking for cleanup help

MOKENA — Mokena Cleanup Day, sponsored by the Community Affairs Commission, will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Participants are asked to register at 9 a.m. at the Village Hall. Afterward, there will be a complimentary lunch.

Sponsors include Brookhaven Market Place, Berkot’s, NuWay Disposal, Patterson Dental, Gamboa’s Citgo, Trustee Debbie and Mike Engler, Servepro, Chicap Pipeline and Service Sanitation. Food prepared by Mokena VFW.
