Troy School Board elects officers

JOLIET—Anthony Andreano was re-elected president of the Troy School Board during the recent reorganization meeting.
Mark Griglione will continue to serve as the board’s vice president and David Talarico as secretary. Board member Cindy Rasmussen Grabavoy will serve as secretary pro tem.
In other business, the board approved the appointment of Rasmussen Grabavoy as the Illinois Association of School Boards Governing Board representative.
The board also voted to continue to hold board meetings 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Don Bacon Administration Center Board room.
In other action, the board:
Approved the request submitted by Supt. Don White for an additional teaching position (social studies/science teacher) for the William B. Orenic Intermediate School.
Voted to accept the retirement request of Shelley Marek, kindergarten teacher at the Troy Shorewood Elementary School.
Heard eighth-grade graduation will be at 7:30 p.m. May 31 at Joliet Township West High School.
