Elwood street to be closed Monday

ELWOOD — There will be an emergency road closure of Walter Strawn Drive at Route 53 from Monday through Wednesday.
It is recommended that all truck traffic use the Interstate I55 and Arsenal Road exit to travel to and from the Centerpoint Intermodal facility.
If you have any questions regarding this emergency road closure, call the Elwood Police Department at 815-424-1090.
Run/walk planned
PLAINFIELD — Operation Welcome You Home will hold a 5K Run/Walk, with all proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, at 8 a.m. May 26 at Settlers Park.
Online preregistration costs $25 and can be accessed through the welcomeyouhome.org website (WWP5K tab). For questions or sponsorship opportunities, email Doug at wwp5k@hotmail.com.
Also needed are volunteers to help pass out water and more. Volunteers will need to be at Settlers Park at 6:30 a.m. Email judi@welcomeyouhome.org.
