Man with gun robs food mart

JOLIET — A food mart on the 100 block of Richards Street was robbed Saturday afternoon, police said.

A man wearing a ski mask and a hoodie walked into the store at about 4 p.m.

The robber, who had a gun, demanded money then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, Lt. Jeff Allbert said.

Three-vehicle crash
on Route 53

COAL CITY — A three-vehicle crash occurred Sunday morning on Route 53, one mile north of Coal City Road, according to state police. All three drivers were transported to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Curtis B. Smith: 43, of 516 Elmwood Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Wednesday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Christopher A. Marshall: 25, of 201 E. Cass St. in Joliet, was arrested by Wilmington police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery and narcotics possession.

Robert E. Davis: 47, of 402 Amherst Ave. in Lockport, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

Robert Q. Walker: 52, of 917 Draper Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of aggravated domestic battery.

Demetrious M. Houston: 30, of 103 Wesleyan Ave. in Lockport, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of narcotics possession.

Glenn W. Grimsley: 51, of 2839 W. Pershing Road in Chicago, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of narcotics possession.

Shanqulla S. Garvey: 18, of 225 Blackhawk Place in Bolingbrook, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of deceptive practices.

Luis R. Mendez: 31, of 1138 Solifsburg Ave. in Aurora, was arrested by Crest Hill police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of motor vehicle theft and possession of a fraudulent motor vehicle title.

Glenn T. Cotterll: 48, of 2008 Old Glory Court in Yorkville, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of theft.

Jose A. Ramos: 18, of 707 Meeker Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of aggravated domestic battery.

Joseph T. Blakemore: 25, of 843 Beech Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested by Bolingbrook police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of cannabis possession and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

Lakdrea A. Johns: 25, of 1016 Richards St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

Steven R. Wood: 38, of 1709 Kendall Ridge Blvd. in Plainfield, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Keon D. Creal: 20, of 508 S. Ottawa St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery.
