Manhattan-New Lenox TRIAD to host program

Stand against scams

NEW LENOX — The Manhattan-New Lenox TRIAD for Seniors will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the New Lenox Village Hall Community Room, One Veterans Parkway.

Mary Woolery, from the Senior Services Program, with Special Agent Pamela Janecek of the state police will present “Financial Exploitation of the Elderly.”

Good student health

PLAINFIELD — Heritage Grove Middle School physical education teacher Lynette Benda will attend the Fuel Up to Play 60 Illinois All-Stars Celebration noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walter Payton Center, the Chicago Bears indoor practice facility at Halas Hall in Lake Forest.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a program promoting healthier eating and more physical activity among students.

Benda started the program at Heritage Grove this year.
