Golf outing to benefit Make-A-Wish

Fundraiser May 31

PLAINFIELD — The Plainfield Junior Woman’s Club will host its annual Rock For a Wish fundriaser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a golf outing and dinner May 31 at the Whitetail Ridge Golf Club, 7671 Clubhouse Drive in Yorkville.

The dinner will be 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets cost $25. Rendition will provide music.

Golf starts at noon with a shotgun start in scramble format. Cost is $125, which includes entrance to the dinner.

Exelon employee wins award

CHICAGO — Exelon Corp. recognized employee Kristine Gregory of Joliet with a merit award for her volunteer service with the Forest Preserve District of Will County. The award comes with a $5,000 cash grant to the organization in Gregory’s honor.

Gregory, a cyber security analyst with Exelon Nuclear, began volunteering with the forest preserve as a trail sentinel two years ago.

Gregory also volunteers with the preserve’s Operations Department, working on cleanups and identifying potential safety hazards throughout the preserve.
