JOLIET — National Women’s Health Week draws to a befitting close at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center on Saturday with the third annual Powerful Women, “Wake-Up Call!”
Attendees will enjoy a live “TV talk-show” program, and will feel empowered to make their health a top priority despite their busy lives.
The physician “guests” will be asked questions regarding healthcare issues affecting women today. These medical experts will discuss leading-edge treatments available through their offices and Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center as well as candidly answer questions from the host and audience.
Topics such as the controversial vaginal mesh and bladder sling, early menopause, hormone replacement, radiation risks, and the important role of the primary care physician will be highlighted. Guest speakers Drs. Mickey Jester, Nahla Merhi, Wendy Marshall and Deirdra Greathouse-Williams are four powerful women who will be among those physicians practicing in Provena’s new Healing Arts Pavilion scheduled to open in New Lenox this July.
The free program will be 8:30-11 a.m. in the center’s Bruce J Wallin, M.D. Auditorium, and will include health screenings, information booths and mini-massages.
To register, call 815-725-9438 or register online at www.provena.org/stjoes/power.
A light, healthy breakfast will be available. The physician talk show feature will begin at 9 a.m. with plenty of time for questions and answers. Giveaways and raffle prizes will add to the fun. Space is limited.
