Updated: June 17, 2012 8:06AM

Kevin Manson, of Frankfort, recently received Exelon’s Energy for the Community Volunteer Award for his service with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Will County.

Manson, a crew leader at Exelon subsidiary ComEd, has been a CASA volunteer since 2009 and is its board president.

CASA volunteers guide youths through the court system, looking out for their best interests.

Exelon donated $10,000 to CASA in Manson’s honor.

“The $10,000 grant will allow us to bring hope to more children,” Manson said in a news release.

Under his leadership, CASA increased its fundraising by 155 percent and its volunteer base by 30 percent, allowing it to serve 150 percent more children.

Since 2007, Exelon has honored employees who demonstrate exceptional community service.
