Fire Department investigators Friday morning remained on the scene of a blaze which destroyed a Yorkville home.

No one was injured in the fire, which broke out before 7 p.m. Thursday at the home in the 1100 block of Spring Street.

No one was home when the fire started, Bristol-Kendall Fire Chief Michael Hitzemann said.

Investigators were still on the scene Friday trying to determine the cause.

Hitzemann said the blaze left the home uninhabitable, causing more than $200,000 in damages. He said the fire also damaged a neighboring home.

The Newark and Oswego fire protection districts assisted Bristol-Kendall firefighters.

This is the second time this week that Bristol-Kendall police have responded to a structure fire. Hitzemann said they were called to Colonial Parkway on Monday after a fire broke out in a townhome.
