Tribunal on ‘Climate Justice’

Climate justice

JOLIET — Citizens Against Ruining the Environment, a Lockport-based organization, will be partners in a Women’s Tribunal on “Climate Justice.”

The tribunal will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Church, at 329 S. Ottawa St.. The focus is on the impacts coal has on women and their health, their families and their communities.

CARE is working with groups including the Feminist Task Force, the Loretto Community, the Pilsen Environmental Rights and Reform Organizaton, and Eco-Justice Collaborative.

Fundraiser tourney

MINOOKA — The Knights of Columbus of St Mary’s will hold its annual fundraising bean bag tournament June 23 at Minooka Summerfest.

Registration forms are available online at the village of Minooka website. Cost is $30 per team if paid before June 14; $40 after that date.

Tournament registration begins at 10:15 a.m. and the tournament starts at 11 a.m. Call John at 815-521-1970.
