‘Promenade House Walk’ set for June 16
ROMEOVILLE — The Grand Haven Adult Resort Community will host a “Promenade House Walk” from noon to 3 p.m. June 16. The walk will feature homes and townhomes that are for sale.
Grand Haven’s 657-unit over-55 community was designed by Lakewood Homes and Del Webb and opened in 2002. It is at 1520 Grand Haven Blvd.

New book puts priority
on balancing work, life
JOLIET — A new book, “Make Balance a Priority,” offers information on the art of balancing work and life. Michele Farkas, a human resources professional, photographer and Gallery 7 Partner, is the book’s author.
The book can be purchased at www.blurb.com or at Gallery 7, 116 N. Chicago St.
A portion of the proceeds from the book will benefit the American Cancer Society.
YouTOWN app available
for smart phone users
JOLIET — Smart phone users can keep up with the Will County Land Use Department’s activities by downloading the YouTOWN app, a mobile platform designed for government agencies.
The smart phone application is available on the Land Use Department website, or can be accessed through a phone’s app service.
Meetings, agendas, events and announcements are posted.
Plans are to add maps and other government services to the app in the future.
