Concert series starts Thursday in Plainfield

Concert series begins with the Renditions
PLAINFIELD — The 2012 Settlers’ Park Concert Series, presented by Tim Stetenfeld and Edward Jones Investments, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Settlers’ Park, southeast of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road.
The Renditions, sponsored by Aerotek Design Labs, will perform music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
Parking is available in the Village Hall parking lot on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road.
Schools to get new
assistant principals
PLAINFIELD — Charles Reed Elementary School and Plainfield Academy will have new assistant principals next school year.
The school board approved naming Lincoln Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Tammy Sroczynski to the assistant principal’s post at Charles Reed.
The board also approved hiring Timothy Albores, a Chicago school social worker, as the assistant principal at Plainfield Academy.
