Work to close Mills Road rail crossing

JOLIET — The Canadian National Railway has scheduled an emergency closure of the EJ&E grade crossing at Mills Road (just west of Rowell Avenue) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Road closure signs will be posted.

A detour will use Rowell Avenue (south), Route 52 (west) and Richards Street (north).

Meet Walsh Jr. for coffee

JOLIET — State Rep. Larry Walsh Jr., D-Elwood, will host his first coffee shop stop at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Silver Spoon Restaurant, 1601 W. Jefferson St.
