TRIAD to hear about strokes

NEW LENOX — Dr. Qasim Bashir of Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center will discuss stroke symptoms at a meeting of the Manhattan-New Lenox TRIAD at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Village Hall, One Veterans Parkway.

TRIAD is for ages 50 and older.

New Lenox Community Television will be there to video-tape and air the presentation on Channel Six our New Lenox Community Television channel.

Concert series July 19

PLAINFIELD — The 2012 Settlers’ Park Concert Series, presented by Tim Stetenfeld and Edward Jones Investments, will be at 7:30 p.m. July 19 with a concert by Mr. Myers, sponsored by Waste Management.

Mr. Myers features a Caribbean rock sound.

The concert will be in Settlers’ Park, southeast of the intersection of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road and just south of Village Hall. Parking is available in the Village Hall parking lot, on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road.
