Police Blotter: Woman finds an unwelcome guest in hotel room

JOLIET — A motel reported an unwanted guest to police Wednesday morning.
According to reports, a woman went to Motel 6, 1850 McDonough St., on Tuesday night and checked in, but walked in to find a man sleeping in the room.
“She was given a different room, but the clerk checked with the manager arriving for the day shift and confirmed that room wasn’t rented,” police said.
The intruder was gone when they went to check, but employees reportedly found the air conditioner had been pushed in and the room was “in disarray.”
Fingerprints lead to arrest
JOLIET — Police say fingerprints were used to link a 19-year-old man to two break-ins last month.
Phillip J. Dockins, of 708 Summit St., was arrested on charges of burglary and residential burglary Tuesday after police obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Cmdr. Brian Benton said on May 10 someone kicked in the back door of a residence in the 1200 block of Dearborn Street and stole jewelry.
Around 3 a.m. May 15, a witness looked outside to see two men reaching into an open window of a car parked outside in the 800 block of Prairie Path Lane.
Evidence technicians were able to find prints in both cases and identified Dockins, Benton said. Around 7:20 p.m. tactical officers reportedly found Dockins hiding under a bed in a residence in the 600 block of Meeker Avenue. Dockins was booked into the county jail.
Two arrested in bike theft
BOLINGBROOK — Two teens were arrested after allegedly trying to steal a man’s bicycle Tuesday night.
Lt. Mike Rompa said police were called at 9:25 p.m. to the parking lot on Fernwood Drive where Terrian D. Fanniel, 17, and Darius D. Scott, 17, were fighting with a 25-year-old man.
Rompa said the suspects fled before police arrived but were apprehended in the area. The victim said the two men had pushed and shoved him while trying to take his bike.
Fanniel, of 831 Rebecca Lane, and Scott, of 27 S. Fernwood Drive, were booked into the county jail Wednesday on charges of robbery and battery.

Keith J. Barnes: 31, of 514 Lockwood Drive in Lockport, was arrested by Frankfort police and booked into the county jail June 7 on charges of driving on a suspended license, cannabis possession and driving under the influence of drugs.
Jorge A. Diaz: 33, of 127 Division St. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail June 7 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Gerard J. Jayne: 50, of 209 Troy Lane in Lombard, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail June 7 on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.
David P. Gregory: 19, of 24665 Manor Drive in Shorewood, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail June 7 on charges of hit-and-run and attempting to flee from police.
Heath S. Erwin: 39, of 120 Oakwood Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail June 7 on charges of cannabis possession and driving on a suspended license.
Latrell A. Baker: 35, of 11565 S. Racine Ave. in Chicago, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail June 7 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and cannabis possession.
