Man charged after hitting Shetland pony in Yorkville

Quintin P. Wissmiller has been charged with DUI after crashing his ATV into a pony in Kendall County, deputies said.

YORKVILLE - A man was charged Sunday with DUI after striking a Shetland pony while driving an all-terrain vehicle in southwest suburban Yorkville.
Kendall County Sheriff deputies were called out to the 11500 block of Brisbin Road after receiving a call that someone suffered a head injury on Sunday, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
When they got there, deputies discovered that Quintin P. Wissmiller, 33, allegedly struck a Shetland pony while traveling southbound on Brisbin Road near Helmar Road, the statement said.
Paramedics transported Wissmiller to the Morris Hospital emergency room, the statement said.
Wissmiller, of the 11000 block of Brisbin Road in Yorkville, was also charged with driving with a revoked license, the statement said.
The pony suffered a back injury as a result of the crash and was euthanized, deputies said.
