Shorewood police looking for suspect in stabbing

SHOREWOOD - Police are seeking the man who stabbed another man on the street early Friday.

Around 2:25 a.m. the 43-year-old victim was walking home in the 500 block of Edgebrook Drive when he was approached by a white man in his twenties.

“The victim greeted the offender who (immediately) cursed at him then attacked him,” Cmdr. Eric Allen said. The victim was stabbed several times and suffered wounds to his arms, chest and back.

Nearby residents heard the struggle and the suspect who was 5-foot 8-inches tall and weighed 180 pounds, fled south on Edgebrook Drive and east on Ridge Road.

The victim was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.
