A 27-year-old Romeoville man has been charged with firing a rifle in a reckless manner in Kendall County.
Steven Michalek, of the 600 block of Kingston Drive, was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct after an investigation showed that he was firing high-powered rifles at 7 p.m. May 26 in the 10600 block of Route 52, the Kendall County sheriff’s office said Friday.
Michalek was charged last week, police said.
Michalek was firing the rifles without a berm or safe backdrop, police said.
A stray bullet hit a car parked at a house in the area, police said, and the same bullet nearly hit a woman.
