BOLINGBROOK — A complaint of noisy fireworks early Tuesday reportedly led police to arrest two men for a weekend shooting.
Around 1:15 a.m. police responded to the Beaconridge area and Calvin Brady, 19, fled when he saw an officer approach, according to Lt. Mike Rompa.
Before the foot chase ended in the 100 block of Pilgrim Court, Brady allegedly tossed a 9 mm handgun that later was found by a police canine.
“Roc Bell then approached the area (and) officers were able to gain information of Bell and Brady being involved in a shooting which occurred on Sunday,” Rompa said.
At 1 a.m., an adult and two children were sleeping in a downstairs room in the 400 block of Devonshire Court when four shots were fired into the house.
“Three rounds penetrated the north wall of the family room with one round striking the wall about one foot above the victim’s head. A fourth round was fired into the upstairs bedroom just above the family room,” Rompa said.
Nearby residents reported the shooter was accompanied by three men and a woman.
Brady, of 334 Deerfield Drive, and Bell, of 449 Mallview Lane, were booked into the county jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and defacing the identifying markings of a firearm. Brady was also charged with resisting arrest and possession of cannabis.
