NEW LENOX — The mayor says business is picking up in New Lenox. Now, the village board is adding another meeting to its monthly schedule in order to get more done.
The board approved an ordinance scheduling a committee of the whole meeting on the third Monday of every month except December. Previously, individual committees met separately.
“Things are starting to pick back up,” said Mayor Tim Baldermann. “Knock on wood, things are headed in the right direction.”
The meeting will allow staff to present information to the entire board at one time. No votes or actions will be taken.
Baldermann attributes the need for these meetings to increased housing starts, the upcoming outlet mall and overall commercial business doing well.
