Lt. Gov. Samuel Shapiro will represent Gov. Otto Kerner at both performances of “The Music Man” film premiere here at the Rialto Theatre. The celebrated film brought national attention to the marching band. Lockport’s “Music Man” championship band will play at both showings of the film.
25 years ago, 1987
Cornerstone Services Inc. has been awarded an additional state grant of $340,000 to offer daycare services for mentally disabled adults. Because of the grant, Cornerstone will hire 15 additional workers for the program, said James Hogan, executive director. With the increase in funding, Cornerstone will be able to handle another 59 clients.
