Fundraiser set for Plainfield couple

JOLIET — A fundraiser for Lynne and Kevin Huyser of Plainfield will be from noon to 10 p.m. Thursday at Culver’s Restaurant, Route 59 and Theodore Street.
Mention the “Huyser benefit” and 10 percent of your bill will be donated to the Huysers.
Kevin Huyser, 51, was diagnosed with cancer six years ago. His only chance for any kind of recovery is a stem cell transplant, which will be done in September.
The Huysers face mounting medical bills for his treatment.
Concerts get funding
JOLIET — Joliet Township has stepped forward to provide funding for the 6:30 p.m. Thursday Concerts on the Hill at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park.
The schedule includes: Thursday, Bicentennial “Pops” Band; Aug. 16, Time III Arts Academy Dancers; Aug. 23, Joliet Central High School Marching Band; Aug. 27, U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America; and Aug. 30, Joliet Township High School Orchestra.
