Church names its new pastor

MINOOKA — St. Mary’s Church had a new pastor installed Saturday.
The new pastor is the Rev. Tuan Van Nguyen.
He spent one year at St. Charles Borromeo in Romeoville, four years in College Seminary at St. Meinrad in Indiana and four years at St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein.
He was ordained June 7, 1986, at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nannatus.
After his ordination, he spent six years at St. Mary’s in Downers Grove and then four years at St. Francis of Assisi in Bolingbrook.
He comes to St. Mary’s Church from St. Alexander’s in Villa Park, where he has been for the past 16 years.
Joliet Bishop Daniel Conlon celebrated the Mass and a reception followed in the church hall.
