JOLIET - A Wheeling man caught in an Aurora hotel room with a 16-year-old girl last year pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Sun-Times Media is reporting.
David Kohl, 38, of Wheeling has no plea deal with prosecutors, and Will County Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak set an Oct. 10 hearing for sentencing.
Naperville police said they thought Kohl had had a relationship with his victim since December 2010. The two met “somewhere in Chicago,” a spokesman said, during a chance encounter on the street.
The girl’s mother called police June 27, 2011, when she couldn’t find her daughter, police said. Officers tracked her down at a hotel near I-88 and Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora. They said they found her in a room there with Kohl.
