to be on the move

JOLIET — Due to the construction taking place in the city of Joliet’s Council Chambers, the next meeting will be a combined precouncil/council meeting due to the Labor Day holiday at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center auditorium, 333 N. Madison St.

It will be tape delayed and broadcast on JCTV Channel 6 at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Citizens Police Academy
for senior citizens

CHANNAHON — The Channahon Police Department will host a Citizens Police Academy, exclusively for senior citizens.

“The purpose of hosting a senior citizens C.P.A. is that many senior citizens have similar experiences and concerns; and those experiences and concerns can be very different than younger adults just starting a career or family,” Police Chief Jeff Wold said.

Classes will meet 6:30-8 p.m. every other Monday, Oct. 1 to Jan. 21, at the Channahon Police Department, 24555 S. Navajo Drive. Applications are available at the department. Officer Mike Lazzari is the class coordinator and he can be reached a 815-467-5152 or mlazzari@channahon.org.
