WILMINGTON — The Wilmington City Council voted to approve an “opt-in” agreement with the Will County Governmental League, giving residents and small businesses the opportunity to join an electrical aggregation program.
City Administrator Tony Graff said the vote allows Wilmington to work with the league to provide the opportunity for Wilmington residents and businesses to “opt-in” to the savings on electricity.
Residents should wait until they receive a letter from the city, with the city logo, announcing the details of the program, Mayor Marty Orr said.
The league’s program is through FirstEnergy, he said.
People can opt-in to the program “to help get the best reduction,” Graff said.
More information will also be on the city’s website.
