Deadline for property tax objections

JOLIET — Taxpayers have until the close of business Dec. 4 to file a tax objection complaint under Title 8 of the Illinois Property Tax Code with the Will County circuit clerk.

As with any legal proceeding, the clerk charges a filing fee. The filing fee for tax objections is $136 to open a case, and $100 for each additional parcel.

The case number for objections to the 2011 levy is 2012 TX 334.

BOLINGBROOK — Power Connection’s food pantry now will be open from 1 to 6:45 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 999 Remington Blvd., Suite F.

For a $20 donation guests can shop the aisles of canned/boxed goods, drinks, desserts, snacks, breads, fruits and vegetables. Clients also receive a pre-selected bag of meat.

There is no income verification and all residents of Illinois are welcome.

The Resale Connection is also open from 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on those Mondays.
