Braidwood Station to hold open house

WILMINGTON — Braidwood Generating Station will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Exelon’s Services and Training Center, 36400 S. Essex Road.

Employees will be on hand to talk with visitors about station operations and enhancements made at the station following last year’s event at the Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan. Visitors can tour the plant’s main control room simulator used to train reactor operators.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Neutron, the Braidwood Police Department’s crime-fighting dog.

Real estate tax sale

JOLIET — Will County Treasurer Steve Weber will conduct the county’s annual real estate tax sale at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 6 in the Will County board room, 302 N. Chicago St.

Each tax buyer must register with the treasurer by Nov. 27 in order to participate.

Tax buyers can download registration forms at www.WillCountyTreasurer.com. The registration fee is $500.
