Bothered by the ex, caught by the cops

JOLIET — At least his ex won’t be coming to harass him.
Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Henderson Avenue and Benton Street after a man was seen trying to break into a parked car.
“Officers found Jerimiah D. Gibson, 34, walking nearby, with a screwdriver sticking out of his front pocket and two Illinois license plates under his shirt,” Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
Gisbon, of 216 Grinton Ave., allegedly said “his ex-girlfriend was harassing him and he wanted to leave town, but needed to put plates on his car.”
While spared the cost of gas, Gibson was booked into the county jail on charges of possession of stolen license plates and unauthorized use of license plates.
Second time’s the charm
LEMONT — A woman allegedly learned it’s best to leave the handcuffs on until the police take them off.
Around 10:20 a.m. police were called to the 500 block of Fourth Street where Sherri L. Forillo, 49, was reportedly violating an order of protection. A short time later, Forillo violated the order again in the 100 block of Stephen Street, police said.
“Around 11:30 a.m. she was brought to the booking area and even though they were properly secured, she was able to slip her handcuffs,” Cmdr. Dan Tulley said.
Forillo was then recuffed and warned not to do it again.
“But she did and was then charged with escape,” Tulley said. Forillo, of 1023 McCarthy Road, is scheduled to appear in court on the violations Oct. 15 and the escape attempt Oct. 31.
