Trucker killed in I-80 crash

MORRIS — A North Carolina man died after his semi truck hit a car, jackknifed and then crashed into another semi truck Thursday afternoon on Interstate 80, authorities said.
About 2:09 p.m., Norman Hargus, 41, of Lenior, N.C., was driving a 2009 red Freightliner box truck west on I-80 when it hit the back of a silver Kia Soul near Route 27, state police reported.
The Freightliner jackknifed and struck the back of a 2012 blue Freightliner box truck, the police said.
Hargus died at the scene.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
