The Manhattan Park District will host its fifth annual wine festival Sept. 22 at the historic Baker/Koren Round Barn Farm Park at U.S. 52 and Baker Road.
This year’s event kicks off with a new free family fun time for all ages from noon to 4 p.m., with pumpkin decorating, inflatables, music, food, games, a petting zoo and more.
The wine festival follows from 5 to 10 p.m. for those age 21 and older.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. The price includes eight tastings and a souvenir glass. Tasting will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m., and wine will be available to buy until 9:30 p.m.
Musical entertainment will be provided by The Hat Guys from 6 to 10 p.m.
Wine will be offered by Aged 2 Perfection, Illinois River Winery, and Berkot’s Super Foods. Craft beer will be available to buy as well.
An expanded selection of food and beverage choices will be available from Parmesan’s Wood Stone Pizza, the Irish Pig BBQ, Connolly’s Catering, and Paradise Smoothies.
Advance tickets are for sale until noon Sept. 22, at the Manhattan Park District Program Center, 397 S. State Street, and at Berkot’s locations in Orland Park, New Lenox, Manhattan, Peotone, Mokena and Wilmington, or via PayPal.com. Those buying tickets on PayPal should bring a receipt to the festival to obtain the tickets.
Proceeds from this event will go toward the planned preservation and restoration of the historical buildings, open space, oak grove, wetlands and recreation on the 103-acre site.
