Lions Candy Day to be in Plainfield

Updated: November 9, 2012 6:02AM

PLAINFIELD — On Saturday and Sunday, the Plainfield Lions Club will sell candy at Essington and Caton Farm roads.

All proceeds will be donated to families and children in the Plainfield area. In 2011 the Plainfield Lions donated more than $15,000 to needy families for the holiday.

Candy Day is the premiere fundraiser for the services and programs provided to the hearing and visually impaired in Illinois. This event alone raises more than 50 percent of the total operating funds for the Lions International Foundation.
