Teacher retirement
update to be presented
PLAINFIELD — Will County Regional Superintendent of Schools Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant will partner with the Teachers’ Retirement System to present new procedures for teacher retirement.
A meeting will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday at the Plainfield Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St.
Subjects to be discussed include investments, rules and regulations for retirees, General Assembly updates, constitutionality and a question-and-answer session.

Early Education Impact
Symposium Oct. 17
NEW LENOX — Advocates United for Joliet Children, in conjunction with Illinois Action for Children and the University of Illinois Institute of Government and Public Affairs will present an Early Education Impact Symposium focusing on learning through play from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd.
A video presentation of Kathy Hirsh-Pasek’s keynote address on play-based learning in an evidence-based way will be followed by a panel discussion.
