Bobcat Bowl for academy

PLAINFIELD — Friends of Plainfield Academy will host the annual Bobcat Bowl from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Oct. 20 at Pioneer Lanes, 150 S. Joliet Road, to raise money to support students of Plainfield Academy

Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the school, 23930 W. Lockport St., or at the bowling alley the night of the event.

The cost includes unlimited games of bowling, shoe rental and one pitcher of pop.

Black women to meet

NEW LENOX — The National Hook-Up of Black Women Joliet Chapter will host its annual Health Fair and Luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd.

Topics are breast cancer awareness, women’s health issues and domestic violence.

The programs and lunch are free. The public is invited.

Dr. Anne McCall, Dr. Deirdra Greathouse-Williams and the Rev. Tammie Latimore are speakers.
