Police Chief Tom Best said the crash occurred at 7:26 p.m. at South Broadway and Oak Street.
Two employees were treated at Morris Hospital and released while Streets and Alleys Supervisor Darrell L. Olson, 44, “suffered traumatic injuries to his lower extremities and was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove,” Best said.
The driver of the other vehicle, Thomas C. Brown, who turned 42 years old Saturday, was also taken to Morris Hospital but refused treatment, Best said. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and released on bond.
