Updated: November 27, 2012 10:18AM

The Illinois Equine Research and Promotion Board is soliciting applications for grants until Nov. 15. Any group, individual, company or institution may apply for funding.

Requests should be submitted on the forms provided on the Horsemen’s Council website at www.horsemenscouncil.org or by going directly to www.horsemenscouncil.org/Board/Grant%20Applications.htm

Two forms, one for research and one for all other projects, can be found there along with directions for submitting the request. The forms can also be obtained by contacting the board’s administrative office at 3085 Stevenson Drive, Suite 200, Springfield, IL, 62703.

Grants are reviewed by a 12-member board and are awarded with a goal to benefit the largest number of people/horses for the dollars expended. Funding comes from a voluntary 5-cents-per-50-pound check-off of retail sales of horse feed.

For more information, call 217-529-6503.
