Updated: January 15, 2013 4:22PM

Plainfield resident Connie DiNello, who signed up for a free online service that helps people slash their utility bills, received free electricity for a month, the Citizens Utility Board announced.

CUBenergysaver.com allows ComEd customers to connect to an online tool to track electricity savings.

“I’m going to use the money ($74.48) to take my husband out to dinner,” DiNello said.

School wants guest readers

ROMEOVILLE — R.C. Hill Elementary School, 616 Dalhart Ave., is looking for “guest readers” who would be interested in reading a story during one of the school’s Nov. 15 Bedtime Stories Family Reading Night.

Guest reading sessions run for 15 minutes at either 6:30, 6:50, 7:10 or 7:30 p.m. Guest readers may bring their own book or request that one be chosen by school staff. The chosen book will be delivered to guest readers by Thursday.
