Police Blotter: Man arrested on drug charges

NEW LENOX — Police reportedly arrested a Monee man selling LSD on Thursday night.

According to reports, officers were tipped to a drug deal around 9 p.m. and found Benjamin K. Taylor, 23, with LSD in his possession.

After Taylor was taken into custody, police searched his home at 25737 S. Old Monee Road and reportedly found 47 Ecstasy pills and three grams of powdered Ecstasy. Taylor was booked into the county jail on charges of delivery of narcotics, narcotics possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Man charged with raping woman

PLAINFIELD — Police say a man raped his ex-girlfriend while she was unable to fight him off Sunday evening.

Around 5:45 p.m. Ruben Guttierez, 35, was arguing with the woman at her residence when she “suffered from a medical condition and had to lay down,” Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said.

“She was conscious when Guttierez came into the bed and had unwanted sexual intercourse with her,” McQuaid said. “Afterward she was able to contact a friend who notified police.”

Gutierrez, of 422 N. Hickory St. in Joliet, was arrested at the scene and booked into the county jail on a charge of criminal sexual assault.

Student: Man tried to force her into car

ROMEOVILLE — An 18-year-old Romeoville High School student told police a man tried to force her into is car at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon as she was walking home from school near Troxel and Murphy avenues.

She told police a man driving a light tan 4-door vehicle passed by and the driver looked at her. The same vehicle approached her as she was walking on the 300 block of Kirman Ave.

A man grabbed her left arm and tried to get her into his vehicle, police said. She elbowed the man, and he let go of her arm. He again urged her into his car, but she walked away. The man got into his vehicle and drove away.

The man is described as a white man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, with light brown hair parted in the middle. He was wearing glasses, a T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information can call Romeoville police at 815-886-7219.
