Two parks vandalized in Minooka

Updated: November 27, 2012 10:40AM

Vandals have hit two Minooka parks in the last month or so, damaging soccer nets and bathrooms, a village official said.

First, vandals cut down soccer nets at Lions Park and, most recently, damaged bathrooms at Lions and Summit parks, Minooka Parks and Recreation Committee Chairman and Trustee Terry Houchens said.

The damage done to the park bathrooms included a broken glass-block window, a stall door ripped off its hinges and muck splattered all over the walls.

Anyone with information regarding the vandalism can contact either the Minooka Police Department at 815-467-2298 or Grundy County Crime Stoppers at 815-942-9667, said Police Chief Justin Meyer.
