Police Blotter: Chicago man charged with sex crimes in Will County investigation

JOLIET — Will County authorities charged a Chicago man Wednesday who was allegedly looking to have sex with a teenage girl.

Mark R. Barreto, 34, faces charges of aggravated child pornography, child pornography, indecent solication of a child, grooming and indecent solicitation of a child.

Bolingbrook police began to investigate Barreto after another alleged pedophile told them Barreto wanted to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex, authorities said. The case was also investigated by the FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

During a six-month investigation, a High Technology Crimes Unit investigator with the Will County State’s Attorney’s office created an online persona of a 14-year-old girl and began chatting with Barreto on the Internet. Barreto allegedly discussed sexual acts with and exposed himself to the investigator.

Barreto also allegedly sent pornographic pictures of kids between the ages of 5 and 15 over the Internet, authorities said.

Bond was set at $250,000 Wednesday afternoon. Barreto is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 21.

New truck dealership burglarized

MOKENA — A truck dealership expected to open soon was burglarized over the weekend.

Police Chief Randy Rajewski said the break-in was discovered Monday morning at Central Illinois Truck, 8300 W. Spring Lake Drive.

Burglars pried open a service door and took parts and tools from the business, reports said.

James E. Baccof: 23, of 26825 S. 88th Ave., Monee, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Oct. 24 on charges of delivery of marijuana and marijuana possession.

Terence E. Smith: 48, of 701 Sandra Drive, University Park, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Oct. 24 on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

Robert R. Wyatt: 42, of 601 Hamrick Ave., Romeoville, was arrested by Romeoville police and booked into the county jail Oct. 24 on charges of aggravated assault, vandalism, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting, aggravated fleeing from police and aggravated reckless driving.

Benjamin J. Butowski: 22, of 160 Nanti St., Park Forest, was arrested by Park Forest police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of residential burglary.

Rashad Mayfield: 18, of 121 Blackhawk Drive, Park Forest, was arrested by Park Forest police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of residential burglary, marijuana possession and aggravated fleeing from police.

Alejandra Mejia: 33, of 1101 Egerton Drive, Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Victor D. Correa: 29, of 511 Scribner St., Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

Daniel C. Lepore: 18, of 13805 Burning Bush Court, Homer Glen, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of delivery of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kyle J. Kodatt: 27, of 815 Prairie Road, New Lenox, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of violating an order of protection, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Eugene W. Galetti: 55, of White City, Ore., was arrested by state police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of marijuana possession.

Waldo B. Garcia: 38, of 806 Chase Ave., Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Thursday on a charge of sexual exploitation of a child.

Mark J. Harmon: 20, of 206 S. Anderson St., New Lenox, was arrested by New Lenox police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of delivery of marijuana, narcotics possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ana L. Perez: 30, and Gabriela N. Perez, 22, both of 137 Jamestown Lane, Bolingbrook, were arrested by Bolingbrook police and booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Nicholas J. Burke: 18, of 925 N. Main St. in Crete, was arrested by Crete police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of burglary, vandalism and motor vehicle theft.

Cristeon E. Bond: 21, of 105 S. Eastern Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Matthew J. Parker: 21, of 16639 Winding Creek Road in Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of narcotics possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Donald M. Gregory: 49, of 24 Dogwood St. in Park Forest, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, vandalism and criminal trespassing.

Kevin M. Hotuyec: 34, of 1215 N. Frederick St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of delivery of narcotics.

Thomas Brown: 48, of 611 E. Cass St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of narcotics possession.

Devonte D. Williams: 19, of 3 N. Cagwin Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Saturday on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, unauthorized possession of ammunition and marijuana possession.

Wayne K. Biros: 27, of 539 W. Cermak Road in Braidwood, was arrested by Romeoville police and booked into the county jail Saturday on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, narcotics possession, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
