Open house to offer Kendall flood map

YORKVILLE — The Illinois State Water Survey and Federal Emergency Management Agency will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Kendall County Historic Courthouse, 110 W. Madison St.

There will be a presentation regarding the revised flood insurance rate maps and flood insurance study for Kendall County.

Revisions reflect new information on the main stem of Blackberry Creek and in the Aux Sable Creek watershed.

Parents can learn about school assessments

BOLINGBROOK — Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit Pioneer Elementary School, 1470 Raven Drive, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 to learn more about Valley View School District’s MAP assessments and other assessment tools used at the K-5 grade level.

Participants may bring their child’s individual MAP score sheet to follow along during the presentation.
