Free meal for veterans

JOLIET — The Department Restaurant, 205 N. Chicago St., will offer free burgers and fries to any veteran for lunch or dinner on Sunday, Veterans Day.
Guest are asked to bring their military ID. Offer is good for one per table and can’t be combined with other offers or discounts.

Recycling, craft fair
PLAINFIELD — Charles Reed Elementary School, 2110 Clublands Parkway, will host a free metal and electronics recycling event in conjunction with its annual Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Proceeds will benefit the PTA’s Green Team programs.
Donors can bring anything with an electrical plug, including electronics, computer equipment, appliances and more.
