Benefit set for MS victim

LOCKPORT — A benefit for Heidi DuPont of Lemont, who recently was diagnosed with MS and has no medical insurance, will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion.

There will be dinner, drinks, live entertainment and raffles.

Donation at the door is $25.

Sought are donations and raffle prizes. Contact Barbara Lee at 630-257-7339.

Volley for the Cure

PLAINFIELD — The Heritage Grove Middle School eighth-grade girls volleyball team will take on their district rivals from Ira Jones Middle School in a special Volley For the Cure event at 7 p.m. Friday at Heritage Grove Middle School, 12425 S. Van Dyke Road.

The event will raise money to support the Susan B. Komen Foundation.

Admission is free for anyone wearing the special T-shirt that recently was sold in support of the event. Otherwise, tickets cost $5 at the door.
